Organic wines from Torre in Pietra.
Winemakers since 400 harvests.
The winery is located within the medieval village of Torre in Pietra Castle, where vineyards have been documented since the 16th century. The estate extends over 150 hectares (approximately 50 hectares for vineyard) amidst rolling tuff and gravel hills, within the DOC Roma area: we vinify exclusively our own grapes, grown organically with passion, care, and respect for our land. The Torre in Pietra estate was purchased in 1926 by Senator Luigi Albertini. Forced to sell the Corriere della Sera newspaper, of which he was editor and co-owner, due to his dissent with the Fascist regime, Senator Albertini embarked on a new entrepreneurial adventure and began the extensive reclamation of the estate’s land. His son Leonardo Albertini and his son-in-law Nicolò Carandini took on the task of overseeing the reclamation work and establishing a large, modern farm spanning 2,500 hectares. Friesian cattle, black-and-white cows specialized in milk production, were introduced to Italy, and a model farm was created, specializing in dairy products, which gave birth to the Torre in Pietra brand.
